Data Science and Forecasting. Data Science is an interdisciplinary field that combines expertise from several domains. It is an emerging academic discipline that helps to understand and analyse the enormous amounts of data that is generated by modern technologies. There are many areas such as social media, healthcare, e-commerce, climate change, weather forecast, traffic, etc., that produce massive amounts of data. The need for Data Scientists becomes more and more pronounced and urgent to capture knowledge from this massive data. The School provides an opportunity to combine the breadth of knowledge supplied through courses spanning the facultys wide range of expertise. We want to develop strong analytical skills, curiosity, and a passion for research in our students. The School offers Ph.D. program in Data Science and four Post-Graduate programs in regular mode: M.Tech. (Data Science), M.Tech. (Big Data Analytics), M.B.A. (Business Analytics), and M.Sc. (Data Science and Analytics). The School also offers PG program, M.Tech. (Data Science), for working executives. In addition to these Masters programs the School has also started a Bachelors program, B.Sc. (Applied Statistics and Analytics), in collaboration with School of Statistics.
